As many of you know I am a big supporter of the youth in Goshen. I enjoy working with our schools to help connect with our future leaders.
I named 2017 as the, “Year of Goodness.” Due to generous donations from community members we were able to raise $21,000 which was evenly distributed to our 12 public and private schools in Goshen. The students decided how to use this money to create acts of kindness within our community. This was a very popular initiative and the students had a great time deciding how to help others.
I would love to see this program continue. While we already have $8,040, we still need to raise more before the start of the 2018-2019 school year.
As I was thinking of a good way to raise money, I started thinking about the fact that so many of you enjoy commenting on my hair. If $1500 can be raised before 10am on Thursday, May 10th I will cut off the Mayoral man-bun.
Feel free to post the amount you will donate but it will only count if the check/cash is dropped off at City Hall before 10am this Thursday. At that time I will post the amount raised (we won’t have any updates on donations) and if you have met or surpassed the $1500 I will go to Salon J and post pictures of the man-bun removal.
(Every dollar donated will go directly to the Year of Goodness Fund for the school acts of kindness program.)
Having fun,
Mayor Jeremy Stutsman
