ROAD CLOSURE: DIERDORFF ROAD

Today Tuesday, August 14, NIPSCO will close Dierdorff Road directly south of the round-about at Keystone Drive to work on a minor gas leak. They anticipate the road to be closed for one day, but may require closure on Wednesday if something larger than they anticipated is found.

ROAD CLOSURE: 9TH STREET

South 9th Street will be closed from East Jefferson to the first alley north and south for the reconstruction of the roadway. The closure will extend last until October 8. EAST PURL CLOSURE

The 300 Block of East Purl Street – between Sixth and Seventh Streets – will be closed from 4 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, August 11, for the Historic Southside Neighborhood Association picnic.

KERCHER ROAD UPDATE

Starting Tuesday August 7, Rieth Riley will be removing the existing pavement on Kercher Road from the railroad tracks to Weymouth Boulevard. Kercher Road is already closed between the railroad and Weymouth for road construction. Rieth Riley, the contractor, is also going door to door notifying the residents of the pavement removal.

POLICE, FIRE TRAINING AT MIDDLE SCHOOL FRIDAY

LINCOLN AVENUE LANE RESTRICTIONS

Rieth Riley Construction will be adjusting four castings on Lincoln Avenue from the intersection of Indiana Avenue to the Elkhart River Bridge on Wednesday, August 1, and pulling all equipment Thursday, August 2. The casting adjustment will cause lane restrictions. The contractor will provide a flagger to ease traffic flow.
