This month, there will be an additional Household Hazardous Waste Day on Saturday, March 17. Household hazardous waste may be dropped off at the Elkhart County Correctional Facility, free of charge, and sponsored by Elkhart County Waste Management.
- When: Saturday March 17th – 8am to 3pm
- Where: Elkhart County Correctional Facility near intersection of CR26 and CR7. Enter off of CR7
Acceptable materials include flammable liquids, motor oil, gasoline, pesticides, household cleaners, medications, sharps, florescent bulbs, oil based paints and aerosol cans. Latex Paint is not accepted, this should be allowed to dry and then it can be disposed of with the regular trash. Material should be in original labeled containers, if possible, and no containers larger than 40 lbs. or 5 gallons will be accepted.
