On Monday, April 9, Rieth Riley will start construction again on the US 33 connector route. This year, construction will be primarily located at the US 33, Madison and Monroe Street location, near the high school where the new roadway will connect at Monroe Street. For the first phase this year, traffic will be shifted on Madison near the high school, but no closures or detours will take place. Phase 2 of this year will direct northbound traffic onto the new US 33 road while southbound will continue to use the existing Main to Madison route. Phase 3 of construction this year will move both northbound and southbound traffic to the new US 33 road while the existing Madison Street gets reconstructed and tied in.
As the project progresses, the City will be issuing future notices.
