Due to the extending flooding we’re getting in Goshen and out in the county, Mayor Jeremy Stutsman announced Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018 that anyone in need of sandbags can come to the Goshen Street Department to receive them, including residents who live outside of Goshen’s city limits.
If you need sandbags to prevent flooding on your property, you can fill them up with materials provided by the Goshen Street Department at their facility located at 475 Steury Avenue. Shovels to fill the sandbags will be provided on site. The Street Department will be open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Below is a list of locations for filling sandbags throughout Elkhart County. (Those needing to fill sandbags should bring their own shovels and a way to load and transport them to where they are needed).
