Trash and Recycling
The City of Goshen residents and its trash contractor embark on a new adventure – automation. This is better for worker safety, cleaner streets, and less costs in fuel and labor. Changes require street-side pickup to ensure overhead clearance and a contractor-supplied cart for pickup. We appreciate your patience in rolling out these changes!

West side of S. Main Street, north of Plymouth – Trash day is on Friday
It has come to our attention (8/17) that most residents on this stretch of S. Main have been placing their trash out on Monday for years, and Borden drivers have been picking it up because it is out and ready, even though their Monday route does not start on the west side of Main until Plymouth. The trash pickup day for this stretch of S Main is actually on Friday.
This week (8/17) we are correcting that error because it now affects the recycling routes as well. See the map above. Borden is picking up the trash that is out today (8/17) and then will pick it up AGAIN this Friday (8/19). Borden will only be emptying the Borden trash tote per the new trach contract. Any additional trash must have a bag tag to be picked up.
Cottage Avenue – Residents adjacent to Cottage will place their carts on Cottage.
Due to the overhead utility lines, however, large item pickup cannot happen on Cottage for the safety of workers. Residents will need to place large items on 7th or 8th Streets. Remember to call a day ahead to request pick up.
Residents will also be required to add a house number to their garage (or fence or other permanent fixture) so that the driver knows whose container they are picking up. Residents will be asked NOT to mark the container itself.
